Jazz, Jazz, Jazz, New Orleans

There is music in the air in New Orleans.  Frau Schmitt, who is the better half of this operation, and I aren’t big music people but it is impossible to escape the music scene in New Orleans.  If we want to listen to jazz music, all we have to do is go outside our front door.  New Orleans air is alive with rhythm and tempo.  You’ve got your 4:4 time and your 5:4 time, and then you have New Orleans time.  In New Orleans, people dance like nobody is watching.  It’s all jazz, jazz, jazz, jazz, jazz in New Orleans, 24 hours a day.  New Orleans is jazz.

You don’t have to like jazz to visit New Orleans.  After a day in New Orleans, you’ll like jazz.  Jazz is the soundtrack of a New Orleans day or night.  Improvisation is its own melody in New Orleans.  In New Orleans, we make things up as we go along.  Nothing is routine except the endless train of surprises that parade down a New Orleans street.

Every day is a New Orleans parade

If you don’t know what I mean, you will after you spend a few hours here.  There is no place else on this big blue-and-green globe like New Orleans.  We are blessed to live in a magical city.  Small scale miracles unfold every moment of every day in New Orleans.  Your watch says one thing.  New Orleans will tell you that you are living in New Orleans time.  Anything is possible.  If something seems like it must be true, guess what—-it is.

The New Orleans state of mind is a contagion.  Spend enough time and you’ll be infected with joy.  New Orleans, New Orleans, always New Orleans.  It’s jazz, jazz, jazz, spontaneous jazz in New Orleans.  You never know what you’ll find when you turn the corner on a New Orleans street but you know you’ll be delighted by what greets you.

You can stay at an off-the-rack New Orleans hotel, or you can stay at a boutique and bespoke hotel on a picturesque street, on one of the most beautiful streets in this interesting city Frau Schmitt and I call home.  We love to share what we know about New Orleans.  We’ve been everywhere, not just the places you can read about in the guidebooks.  Get off the tourist grid.  Fly above the usual tourist radar.  Soar like a trumpet solo.  It’s jazz, jazz, jazz in New Orleans.  Esplanade Avenue is a quiet street but it’s still jazzier than the jazziest street in your home town.  New Orleans is full of surprises.

If you are looking for a unique New Orleans experience, for a place to stay that you can brag about after you get home, look no further than La Belle Esplanade.  We are not another hotel.  La Belle Esplanade is the real New Orleans deal.  La Belle Esplanade is the closest thing you’ll get to staying at the New Orleans Ritz, if the Ritz were in a 130-year-old Creole mansion on a beautiful street, and run by two people.  That’s boutique.  That’s bespoke.  That’s what good memories are made of.

New restaurants are opening all around us.  Esplanade Avenue is a very interesting part of New Orleans.  Come see for yourself.  Immerse yourselves in the daily life and the night life of this truly amazing city.

À votre santé,

La Belle Esplanade
