What’s New Orleans weather today? The sun always shines in New Orleans, even when it’s raining. New Orleans will always shine in your heart. New Orleans will always make you feel like you have sunshine on your shoulder. New Orleans will always make you happy.
Take it from me. I may be a transplant, but I’ve thrived in this magnificent city we call home. I may not be a blue blood but I’m New Orleanian, tried and true. I am happy to share what I know about this magnificent city I call home. Welcome to the New Orleans state of mind…
NEW ORLEANS WEATHER IN JANUARY.
Ask any New Orleanian about the weather and they’ll tell you it’s great. New Orleans’ weather today is great. Even a bad day in New Orleans is better than a good day of fishing. I was talking to Cindy about this today. I asked Cindy if she is ever unhappy in New Orleans. Cindy has lived here longer than I have, so I often turn to her for sage advice.
Cindy laid her hand lightly on my shoulder and I felt all warm and tingly inside. Cindy has that effect on people. “Matthew,” she said, “Every day in New Orleans is a good day. You already know that. You don’t need me to tell you this.”
When Cindy smiles, it’s like a ray of sunshine. She brightens every room. When Cindy is around, when any New Orleanian is around, really, New Orleans weather gets a little more sparkly, like fireworks at noontime. It is no wonder that every day is a good day in New Orleans, in a city filled with New Orleanians. New Orleanians are couriers and conduits of happiness.
If you are unhappy in New Orleans, you have a stony heart. The sun always shines in New Orleans, even when it’s raining.
Let a smile be your umbrella. That’s what I do. Cindy taught me the trick. Everyone in New Orleans knows this trick—that is why everyone in New Orleans is happy. Don’t worry. Everyone in New Orleans is happy.
In New Orleans, we’re always living in the sunlight and loving in the moonlight.
That’s the way it goes. We love what we like in New Orleans and we all have a wonderful time. That’s what Cindy always tells me when we bump into each other at the hardware store.
Maybe you’re not the biggest Tiny Tim fan. If you aren’t, I don’t blame you. He was quite the showman in his day and it took guts to do what he did. New Orleans is a city built on the shoulders of people who have the courage to be theirselves without apologizing for that. Mr. Tim never established a real New Orleans connection for reasons that remain mysterious to this day. New Orleanians of the day loved Mr. Tim’s music. So did all of America. He was a ukulele sensation.
Some people say that the spirit of Tiny Tim haunts New Orleans. Maybe that’s true.
You can go to Buffa’s for Sunday brunch and hear a dixieland jazz band that features two, three, five ukuleles in a syncopated chorus line. You may associate the uke with Hawai’i, but In a New Orleans state of mind, New Orleans in January is just like the beach Waikiki. Nobody says, “Aloha,” out loud in New Orleans, but you can hear aloha in the breeze.
BE YOUR BEST SELF IN NEW ORLEANS.
New Orleans weather in January is balmy even when it’s cold. The temperatures go up and down but the spirit of the people who live here always remains upbeat. You can’t keep a good New Orleanian down.
