Our Favorite Things to Do in New Orleans, LA

Soak In the Beauty of NOLA

Just because you’re staying in the city doesn’t mean you need to shy away from nature. As a matter of fact, New Orleans embraces it! You’ll be delighted to find many stunning parks at the heart of our beloved city, including some of our favorites like City Park and Woldenberg Riverfront Park! There’s nothing quite like a bike ride along the water to refresh your mind. City Park is perfect for an afternoon stroll. Zig Zag and meander through this gorgeous park, and make your way to many magical corners like the Sculpture Garden, the Botanical Garden, the Couterie Forest, or even the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park or Storyland.

Learn About New Orleans Culture

Traveling to New Orleans is an experience like no other. It's a thriving and living city whose energy is contageous. La Belle Esplanade is at the heart of the Treme neighborhood, which features the iconic Museum of Free People of Color and the Back Street Cultural Museum, which is the oldest African-American museum in the United States. Another one of our favorites is the Treme Petit Jazz Museum -- it's an absolute must-see for music lovers, so do yourself a favor and add it to your bucket list! Are you more in the mood for spooky vibes? The St. Louis N.03 Cemetery is one of the bests and features numerous angelic and religious statues that are worth a stop. It even has a section called the "Restaurant Row" where many famous New Orleans chefs and their families are buried!

Dine at the Best Restaurants in Town

Do you know New Orleans is filled with some of the best restaurants in the country? Trust us; we’ve been to most of them (quite literally). One of our all-time favorites is Liuzza’s-by-the-Track. This amazing neighborhood bar has been around for more than 80 years and serves the best gumbo in town, hands down, and they're right by La Belle Esplanade! They’re also well known for their shrimp po’boy - just trust us and order it.  If you're near City Park, you’ll inevitably find something delicious lurking at every corner. Some of my favorite addresses include Toups' Meatery (which always gets nominated for the famous culinary James Beard Awards), Blue Oak (it’s the best BBQ in town!), Willi Mae’s Scotch House, and Pal’s Lounge. Don't hesitate to ask us for more recommendations when you stay with us-- we have enough to fill out most of your stay.
