Taxis are the most convenient way to reach La Belle Esplanade from Louis Armstrong International Airport. By civic statute, taxi operators are required to offer trips to New Orleans at a set rate posted on the side of the cab: $33.00 for one or two people, $12.00 for each additional passenger. The limousine shuttle services available at the airport do not serve the 2200 block of Esplanade Avenue. When at the airport, ask for the taxi stand — it's right outside the baggage claim on the ground floor, and for New Orleans, a remarkably efficient operation. Depending on the time of day, the ride is between 15 minutes and a half hour from the airport to our front door.
