Map
2216 Esplanade Avenue is located between North Claiborne Avenue and North Broad Street, along the dividing line between New Orleans’ 6th and 7th Wards. Esplanade Avenue is a many-storied street lined with stately homes and southern oaks. The 2200 block of Esplanade Avenue is a peaceful oasis in a bustling city.
From the Airport:
Taxis are the most convenient way to reach La Belle Esplanade bed and breakfast from the Louis Armstrong International Airport. By civic statute, taxi operators are required to offer trips to New Orleans at a set rate posted on the side of a cab. The rate is $33.00 for one or two people, $12.00 for each additional passenger. The limousine shuttle services available at the airport do not serve the 2200 block of Esplanade Avenue. When at the airport ask for the taxi stand. It’s right outside the baggage claim on the ground floor. For New Orleans, it is a remarkably efficient operation. Depending on the time of day, the ride is between 15 minutes to a half hour from the airport to our front door.
By car from the West, Kenner, Metairie, and the Airport:
Take Interstate 10 East. Remain on I-10 by keeping to the right lanes. Do not take I-610 where it branches off to Slidell. Locals go this way, but it is easier for people unfamiliar with local roads to stay on I-10 toward Downtown New Orleans.
As I-10 approaches the Central Business District and the Superdome, stay in the right lanes. Do not take US 90. This will take you across the Mississippi River and you will be lost. Continue through the CBD to exit 236-A, Esplanade Avenue. As soon as you get off the exit, you will be on Claiborne Avenue. Move directly to the lefthand lane and take your first left at the light. This is Esplanade Avenue.
Proceed six picturesque blocks until you see the triangular park with the statue of Clio at its head. This will be at the second traffic light you encounter, on North Miro Street. La Belle Esplanade bed and breakfast is located at 2216 Esplanade Avenue, the orange house with blue shutters on your left. You cannot miss it. Go up the right side of the park on Bayou Road. At the stop sign at N. Tonti Street, turn left, then turn left again down Esplanade Avenue to park in front of 2216 Esplanade Avenue.
By car from the East, Slidell and New Orleans East:
Stay on Interstate 10. Do not take I-610. Take exit 236-C, St. Bernard Avenue, off I-10.
At the end of the exit ramp, turn right on St. Bernard Avenue. You are in the heart of New Orleans’ 7th Ward. North Miro Street is the sixth block from the exit, at the second traffic light. It is a one-way street that leads directly to the 2200 block of Esplanade Avenue. Turn left on N. Miro Street.
Esplanade Avenue is seven blocks from St. Bernard Ave on North Miro St., at the first traffic light you will encounter on N. Miro St. La Belle Esplanade bed and breakfast is located at 2216 Esplanade Avenue, in the orange house with blue shutters visible across from the intersection. Turn right on Esplanade Avenue, keeping to the right of the triangular park that bisects the roadway. At the park’s end is a stop sign at N. Tonti Street. Turn left on N. Tonti, then left again on Esplanade Avenue to park in front of 2216 Esplanade Avenue and La Belle Esplanade bed and breakfast.

If we know what time your plane is scheduled to arrive, we will know when to expect you. If you are driving, an estimated ETA is appreciated to make sure we are here. As a five-suite hotel, there is no point in staffing the front desk around the clock. There is nothing for them to do.
