What makes New Orleans so enticing in summer?  It’s my favorite time of year.  I live in New Orleans.  If I was going to visit, I would come in July or in August.  The New Orleans year may revolve around Mardi Gras, and a highlight is the Jazz and Heritage Festival, but, if you want to enjoy the city on its own terms, you will visit in summer.

Summer is when New Orleans is itself.  The city doesn’t put on airs.  Since few people visit New Orleans in July and August, you get to share the city with its citizens.  Be one of us.  You belong here.  Happiness loves company.  Everything is relaxed.  Check it out for yourself.

Following the law of supply and demand, the price for everything drops.  July and August are the best months to visit New Orleans.  Take it from someone who lives here. Restaurants run specials during Coolinary, a celebration of New Orleans foodways.

I am typing this as I sit on my front porch. Here is the view across the street.

Good memories are made every day in New Orleans. Come make some for yourself.

Visit New Orleans like you live here. Laizzez les bon temps rouler! Don’t wait forever to come to New Orleans. We are waiting for you now.

See you in summer! We look forward to sharing our part of New Orleans with you,
