Get Yourself to New Orleans
Don’t just get your self to New Orleans. Use your better intuition and get your good self down to New Orleans. You’ll find magic and the scent of crawfish in the air. There will be music in the air. I walk out my front door every Saturday night and I can hear one or two jazz bass bands playing a block from our inn. We live in a magical neighborhood where parades go by and people dance in the street. That’s New Orleans. Be yourself. Dance like nobody is watching.
There are no strangers in New Orleans. There are only friends you haven’t yet met. Come one down. Get yourself to New Orleans. We’re waiting to meet you and make good New Orleans memories with you.
Anyone bored in New Orleans has a hole in their imagination.
Whaddaya waiting for?
GET YOURSELF TO NEW ORLEANS.
Why New Orleans? Whaddarya? A dummy? You’ve got to be dead from the neck up to not enjoy a few days in New Orleans. The best amount of time to spend here, if you want my professional opinion, is five nights. Six is better. Seven nights are even better than that. After seven nights, you get antsy to get home and get on with your regular life. On the eighth day in New Orleans, in the real New Orleans, not the tourist New Orleans, you’ll feel the siren call to move here. You’ve got stuff to do. Families to raise, jobs to work, a mortgage to pay—-you can’t fritter away your life in a New Orleans state of mind. That is a task delegated to only the lucky few in this world. Here is exhibit A:
Not everyone can be the most interesting man in New Orleans. Not everyone can be a New Orleans innkeeper. Not everyone can be married to Frau Schmitt, who is the better half of this operation. Take what you can get. Get yourself to New Orleans when you have the time. We’ll be happy to share our part of this wonderful city we call home with you.
When you have the time, we know where you should stay. Good memories are made in New Orleans. The best memories are made on Esplanade Avenue, the second-most beautiful street in this city.
USE YOUR BETTER INTUITION.
There is a physical New Orleans and then there is a New Orleans of the heart. Keep your eyes open in this wonderful city we call home and you’ll learn what it means to fall in love with New Orleans. We’re here for you. You have two friends on Esplanade Avenue. Follow our blog, follow us on Facebook, subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of this page. Keep yourself in a New Orleans state of mind. There is regular happy, and then there is New Orleans happy. When you’re ready to visit, you know where to find us: we’re in the bright orange house with blue shutters. Good memories are made on our street.
We only have five suites. Ours is a small artisanal operation. You know how you get the best beer from a craft brewery. Well, you get the best hospitality from a craft hotel. We know what we’re doing. Let us share the real New Orleans with you, not the off-the-rack version. Plug your dates into our calendar and see what we have available. Plan ahead. With only five suites we tend to fill up early.
Stay as long as you can. No one ever says their visit to New Orleans is too long. They always say it is too short. The longer you are here, the more you’ll realize how much more there is to discover and explore. There are good surprises around every corner. New Orleans blooms with happiness.
If you have any questions, feel free to email us, that’s what we’re here for. We look forward to meeting you in person.
À votre santè!
La Belle Esplanade
Tuesday, May 28, 2019: I could tell you things about New Orleans that you wouldn’t believe, thing that happen to me every day. Frau Schmitt and I lead charmed lives. We know it. There are so many stories to tell. You can find a few more of them here on our other blog. Every day in New Orleans is full of magic and wonder. I’m not talking about the French Quarter or Frenchmen Street or whatever you read on travel websites or in guidebooks. I’m talking about the real New Orleans, the part of the city where people go about their lives and raise families and create legacies that will last for generations. There is the tourist New Orleans and then there is the authentic New Orleans. We live in the authentic New Orleans. That is the part we enjoy sharing with the people who choose to make La Belle Esplanade the headquarters for their adventures. You have two friends on Esplanade Avenue.
