We do go there—-we go to a lot of other places that aren’t in the guidebooks, too.

We live in Tremé, a neighborhood just outside the French Quarter that is pregnant with history and traditions, both old and being born.
New Orleans is like no other city I’ve ever lived in. Tremé is New Orleans on steroids. Most of New Orleans is on steroids. There are very few dull moments here in any neighborhood.
New Orleans culture is densely woven and richly textured. You might bump into a king or you might bump into an Indian chief. You might end up talking to the craziest way-out fool you’ve ever met, or you might just being talking to somebody who is much, much wiser than you. You might end up talking to The Most Interesting Man in New Orleans over breakfast.
Appearances can be deceiving in New Orleans. That’s what makes life interesting. You should Visit New Orleans like you mean it.
