Be Optimistic In New Orleans.
You have to be optimistic to fall in love with New Orleans. Ours is an improbable city built in a swamp. It was founded in 1718. 302 years and still going strong. New Orleans will endure forever, even under sea level. New Orleans is not Atlantis. It is a slice of heaven on earth. Welcome. It’s nice to see you.
Come visit us when you have the chance. Good memories are made in New Orleans every day. The best memories begin at La Belle Esplanade. How do I know? I live here. I see it happen every day. Not so much now, with the coronavirus social distancing and travel shut down, but La Belle Esplanade will be here when you’re ready to make some good New Orleans memories for yourself. Trust me.
Who Was Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville?
Bienville was optimistic in New Orleans. He is called the founder of Louisiana. He also founded Biloxi, Mississippi, where we’ve visited, but we don’t visit there often.
New Orleans is 302 years old this year. Happy Birthday to us. It is a privilege to be a part of this wonderful city we call home. There is a lot of history and tradition here that isn’t like anywhere else in America. New Orleans is like no place else in the world. You can catch a wish and spend a week here to learn what it means to fall in love with the authentic New Orleans. Join this Facebook group that is all about sharing stories about real NOLA. It’s just getting started.
History can’t keep a special city down. New Orleans is sometimes down on its luck (the levee failures during Hurricane Katrina) but it is always vibrant here every day.
Even though we can’t shop at Urban Outfitters during our corona virus quarantine, most people who live here never shopped there, anyway. This photo was taken while I was standing in Bienville Plaza, across North Peters Street:
BE OPTIMISTIC IN NEW ORLEANS.
In New Orleans, we follow our own indigenous fashion. We prioritize things differently from the way the rest of the world does. There are no memories like New Orleans memories. If you die without good memories, what was the point of being alive? New Orleans is here to give you a taste of the good life.
Have a great New Orleans day today, no matter where you happen to find yourself!
You have to friends on Esplanade Avenue.
We hope to meet you soon to share our part of New Orleans,
