George Washington Slept Here in New Orleans
When is your humble narrator going to publish part two of the video tour of the inn? Don’t worry, it’s in the works. Since I don’t know how to edit video, if I don’t like something I have to start again from scratch. What’s taking so long? I’m lazy. There. Now you know. I cannot tell a lie.
George Washington slept here:
I know I just said I cannot tell a lie, so I’m not going to. George Washington did not sleep at La Belle Esplanade. We’ve only been open a little over four years. We opened in September 2012, so we never had the opportunity to meet President Washington. We’ve met many other interesting people over the last 52 months. That more than makes up for it. As innkeepers, we meet a lot of interesting people. As I was telling our guests from Wisconsin this morning, the most interesting people are from Wisconsin.
When George and Martha Washington traveled, they liked to stay in quirky and classy inns like our humble establishment. If we had been open when they were alive, there is no doubt in my mind that Mr. and Mrs. Washington would have loved La Belle Esplanade. Who wouldn’t? For the past 33 months, month after month, all in a row, we’ve been ranked the #1 place to stay not only in New Orleans, but in all of Louisiana on Trip Advisor. Our most recent review, as of this writing, paints the picture why.
We’ve recently been listed on Select Registry. What’s Select Registry? Well, if you don’t know, Select Registry is a portfolio of more than 325 quality-assured premier bed and breakfasts, inns, and hotels throughout North America. Did I just say 325? Well, make that 326 because we were recently inspected and made the grade. We’re the newest members of Select Registry. Another feather in my fedora. George and Martha Washington would agree.
Which of our five suites would George and Martha Washington want to sleep in? I think they would have chosen Les Pêches Suite with this beautiful and comfortable bed:
You don’t need to be the father of your country to enjoy New Orleans. All you need is an open heart and the capacity to be moved by good food, good music and good company. That’s what New Orleans is all about. That’s what La Belle Esplanade is all about. Get it while you can. If you are interested, you can make a reservation directly through this website. Don’t book through Expedia, et. al. You’ll get the best rate and the best lagniappe by booking directly because we’ll get all the information we need in advance to make your stay exceptional.
What’s lagniappe? It’s a New Orleans word. George Washington knew what it meant. After staying with us, you’ll know what it means, too.
À votre santé,
La Belle Esplanade
